Dear Parents of CAMS Students,

Hi, my name is Cathy Arakaki and I am the incoming PTSO President for 2007. I am honored to be following in Marina’s footsteps, and plan to continue to expand the great programs that she has in place. I want to invite you all to join us in attending the PTSO meetings that are held on the 2^nd Wednesday of each month at 7 pm in the Administration Building Meeting room. We will be planning events throughout the year like the Silent Auction, Holiday Potluck and Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. We will work on fundraising to support the staff and student activities, and will vote on how to allocate those funds. Each month, we will hear from students, teachers and administrators who have upcoming activities and wish to request funding or volunteers. Our meetings will be informative, sometimes entertaining, and as brief as possible. I plan to introduce some “free and easy” fundraisers that you may want to use to contribute without having to spend any extra money. I also hope to introduce a student services store where discounted items like movie tickets and See’s candy gift certificates can be purchased along with CAMS logo T-shirts, sweats and accessories. I’m sure you will want to stay involved in your students’ lives and keep up with the latest activities happening on campus, so I plan to distribute a monthly newsletter to help keep you informed. Please join us, and help keep the CAMS PTSO a strong and well organized group with a solid volunteer base. We can certainly use your help! I look forward to meeting and working with you all, and having a fun and productive 2007-8 school year.
